Black women scientists who are trailblazers in STEM [video]

Black women in the United States have been pioneers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. Too often their enormous contributions were overlooked.

Some of these women: Dr. Patricia Bath, who invented a laser device to correct cataracts; Dr. Dorothy Brown, one of the first Black women to become a surgeon in the United States; and Dr. Mae Jemison, the first Black woman to go to space.
