Celebrate Earth Day, April 22, with a free poster showing the wildlife of the planet’s polar regions. These cold places support productive fisheries and offer opportunities for international scientific study.

Musk ox, polar bears and foxes of the Arctic tundra are illustrated in our poster, as well as penguins, whales and seals that call Antarctica home.

Try to spot the poster’s small Arctic tern, which flies 80,000 kilometers every year from Antarctica, where it enjoys the Southern Hemisphere’s summer, to breeding grounds in the Arctic for the Northern Hemisphere’s summer. It is the only resident of both polar regions!
