The Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, held at the U.S. State Department July 24–26, brought together government officials, religious leaders and members of civil society organizations, as well as survivors of religious persecution from around the world.
The conference concluded with the release of the Potomac Declaration, a U.S. declaration reaffirming the ideals in the United Nations’ 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In this video, survivors of religious persecution and their representatives give their voices to the principles in the declaration.
(The survivors of religious persecution who are speaking in their native tongues in this video provided individual translations. Variations from the subtitles may exist.)
