To mark Human Rights Week, four top U.S. Department of State diplomats participated in a live, interactive webchat on Thursday, December 8th with viewing groups and anchor post Embassy Nairobi, Kenya.
Featured panelists included:
- Judy Heumann, special adviser for international disability rights.
- Randy Berry, special envoy for the human rights of LGBTI persons.
- Shaun Casey, special representative for religion and global affairs.
- Keith M. Harper, U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations Human Rights Council.
The program was moderated by Timothy Vianney Kane, associate director of Inclusion Initiatives at George Washington University.
Panelists addressed strategies for engaging people, governments and organizations around key human rights issues.
