Fabiana Rosales, the wife of Venezuela’s interim president, Juan Guaidó, met with President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence at the White House today.

Rosales, describing her nation’s crisis as a matter of life or death, said the former Maduro regime is “trying to break our morale … to submerge us in total darkness.”

“We are with Venezuela,” said Trump, as he welcomed Rosales.

Pence told Rosales: “The United States is going to continue to stand with you, stand with your courageous husband, and stand with freedom-loving people in Venezuela until your libertad is restored.” Rosales will meet with first lady Melania Trump in Palm Beach, Florida, on March 28.
