Michelle Obama and Missy Elliott sing about girl power [video]

Late-night host James Corden has had some pretty impressive guests in his passenger seat. His popular Carpool Karaoke segment, in which famous names sing along to his car radio, has included singers Adele, Elton John and Justin Bieber as well as other celebrities.

This week the comedian, whose television show is called The Late Late Show with James Corden, took a drive around the White House grounds with first lady Michelle Obama. They talked about her favorite musician (Stevie Wonder), her Secret Service code name (Renaissance) and her new social media habit (Snapchat).

The two were joined by rapper Missy Elliott as they sang “This Is For My Girls,” a global call to action to help girls go to school that was recorded by Elliott and a superstar roster of performers.

As the video clip below shows, Obama also talked about her trip to Liberia, Morocco and Spain to highlight her Let Girls Learn initiative, which works to bring education to the 62 million girls worldwide who are not in school.
