Helping farmers of Central America

The U.S. is helping Central American countries improve their agricultural sectors and reduce poverty. Smallholder farmers in El Salvador, for example, were able to increase sales by $147 million through a U.S. Agency for International Development program. In Honduras, U.S. investment in small farms has lifted nearly 90,000 people out of extreme poverty since 2011.
