Does your gender determine your fate? In some places, being born a girl means a life of illiteracy, poor nutrition, limited health care, marriage before age 15 and pregnancy shortly afterward — whether or not she is ready to have a child.

October 11 is the International Day of the Girl Child, a day to help girls stay in school and lead better lives.

On October 11, you can help fix the imbalances girls face and help more of them graduate to better lives. Sign the Girl Declaration or advocate for girls’ education with the help of the Youth Advocacy Group’s toolkit.
