The State Department on October 31 honored four winners of the 2019 Secretary of State’s Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE). The awards, now in their 20th year, recognize U.S. companies that promote and uphold high standards in the communities around the world where they do business. In 2019, the two categories were Women’s Economic Empowerment and Sustainable Operations, with two winners — a multinational corporation and a small-to-medium enterprise — in each category.
Chambers Federation is the small-to-medium-enterprise winner in the Women’s Economic Empowerment category for its operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Procter and Gamble Asia Pacific, the multinational winner in the same category, is recognized for its work in Singapore.
Agilis Partners is the small-to-medium enterprise winner in the Sustainable Operations category for its practices in Uganda. PepsiCo, the multinational winner in the same category, is recognized for the work its PepsiCo India subsidiary has done in that country.
“Our four winners today demonstrate the power of free enterprise,” Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo said at the ceremony. “They demonstrate to our foreign partners that working with our businesses is a path to prosperity and stability.”
