How one community in South Africa gets jobs and electricity [video]

Every community needs jobs and electricity. One company in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, supplies both.

Solar component manufacturer Microcare trains and employs local workers to make the hardware needed for solar power.

“We made it a mandate from day one to employ local people only,” says the company’s marketing manager, Gareth Burley. The electricity goes to areas that the local power grid doesn’t regularly serve.

Dornovan Mutsahuni was without a job until he received training from Microcare. He works there now. “I think other communities should have this,” he says. Follow his journey.
