U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Elan Carr marched with the U.S. delegation in the 31st annual International March of the Living in Poland on May 2.
The March of the Living, according to the event’s organizers, brought individuals from around the world to Poland to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hatred. Participants march from Auschwitz to Birkenau, the sites of a particularly notorious Nazi concentration camp.
Carr was joined on the 3-kilometer walk by U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, U.S. Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher, U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See Callista Gingrich and other senior U.S. officials.
A second March of the Living will take place in Jerusalem on May 9.
